But through Werkcentrum Zaanstreek-Waterland I became curious anyway.&#8221; During an orientation meeting with a career coach, Martijn discovered that there are indeed opportunities, even without experience or education.    <\/p>\n\n<p><em>&#8220;They told me that there are also jobs where you can just start and learn the trade on the job. That appealed to me.&#8221;<\/em> <\/p>\n\n<p>Martijn started as a <strong>domestic worker<\/strong> in Purmerend. His tasks? Making coffee, tidying rooms, running errands, having a chat with the resident(s) &#8211; and above all: giving attention.    <\/p>\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I felt welcome right away. And I saw how much you can mean just by being there for people.&#8221;<\/em> <\/p>\n\n<p>Martijn had the opportunity to take an online course. This gave him practical tools to get started.   <\/p>\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I learn every day.
